 HIGH BLOOD PRESSURE AND CHOLESTEROL

There are two huge health risks that can lead to serious heart conditions and they are high blood pressure and high cholesterol.

These can be prevented by medicine and other therapies as known in our modern day, but did you know that drinking pure healthy water, and plenty of it also contributes to the lowering of cholesterol and high blood pressure...?

Let's start with high cholesterol. What is cholesterol? It is a waxy, fat-like substance called a lipid that is found inside cells and blood. It is produced naturally in the liver, but some of the "bad" cholesterol comes from the food we eat, mainly in animal fats. While too much cholesterol can be harmful, a certain amount is necessary for bodily functions, such as making cell walls and acting as a building block to produce various hormones, bile acids, and Vitamin D.

Too much cholesterol can block blood flow, which results in the thickening and hardening of artery walls, a disorder called arteriosclerosis. This narrows the arteries, and slows down the blood flow, or even blocks it.

This causes in return a lack of oxygen in the body since blood carries oxygen to the body cells. This can result in heart attacks, or even death.

Water can play a very important role in thinning the blood again; drinking water can actually thin the blood, causing the blood to pump more smoothly. Drinking plenty of purified water will keep your blood ways clean because of the flushing ability of water! Did you know that drinking plenty of water can increase your metabolic rate…?

What about high blood pressure, also known as hypertension?

Blood pressure refers to the force of blood pushing against artery walls as it makes it way through the body. Similar to air in a tire, blood fills arteries to a certain capacity, and anything over that capacity can have damaging effects. High cholesterol and high blood pressure can threaten healthy arteries and lead to life-threatening conditions such as heart disease and stroke. High blood pressure is also known as the silent killer because one does not always feel sick or bad when you have it.

Water can also help lowering high blood pressure, as blood is mainly comprised of water. When water levels drop in your body, it may affect your blood pressure too. Drinking the healthy amount of purified water each day can keep a healthy heart, and it also assists the kidneys in cleaning your blood. When blood flow is limited to the kidneys because of lack of water or high blood pressure, it will think the body is low on water, and react by telling the brain to constrict veins and arteries, and causes pressure to become even higher.

When it comes to your health, the quality of your drinking water is just as important as the quantity.

South Africa’s tap water and even some borehole water are not as safe as we assumed it to be anymore.

Do your self a favor and search on the internet for reports on water contamination in our country and you will surely decide to drastically do something about the water you consume everyday into your body.

Toxic bacteria, chemicals such as chlorine and heavy metals routinely penetrate and pollute our natural water sources causing people to get sick while exposing them to long term health consequences such as cancer, liver damage and other serious conditions.

We have reached the point where all sources of our drinking water, including municipal water systems, wells, lakes, rivers, contain some level of contamination.

Have you heard about the Hartebeespoort dam, Vaal river and other sources of our water that has caused people to become sick? Even some brands of bottled water have been found to contain high levels of contaminants in addition to plastics chemical leaching from the bottle.

A good water filtration system installed in your home is the only way to proactively monitor and ensure the quality and safety of your drinking water. Reverse osmosis water purification systems can remove 90-99% of all contaminants from city and well water to deliver healthy drinking water for you and your family.
